A $10,000 City of Bellevue grant put this evening on the calendar. Then four people took less than they are worth to make it real. Here is exactly what is left, and exactly where your gift goes.

You are not filling a hole. You are joining a room that already paid its way in.
Sponsorship makes the event whole first — the sound, the food, the prize for the entrepreneurs. Then the people who built it get paid what they are actually worth. The producer comes third. And anything raised beyond that buys more back-to-school supplies for Eastside students, then goes to Eastside for All, our fiscal sponsor, for community programming on the Eastside.
Golden hour is the last warm light before dusk, the day at its most generous. With every gift the sun climbs — and when it rests full on the horizon, the evening is whole.
This evening is built by Black professionals who agreed to take far less than they are worth so the doors could open, free, to everyone. Some are working for a fraction of their rate. Some are donating their craft outright. That was a choice we made together, and we made it gladly. But a choice to absorb a loss is still a loss.
That loss comes to $8,650 — the gap between what this team was paid and what their work is worth. That is what your support repays. Every dollar past the event itself goes there.
There is no amount too small to have a line. There is no amount too large to have a home. Pick your rung. We will tell you exactly what it bought, and then we will show you the receipt.
Everyone who gives and wants to be named goes on the same wall, in the same size, in the order they arrived. We do not sort our neighbors by what they could afford. The person who covered the sound permit and the company that covered the night stand next to each other, because on August 23 they did the same thing: they made it happen.
And anyone can stay off the wall entirely. Say the word and you will not appear anywhere.

Sponsorship is recognized. Your name or logo goes on the wall, in the program, and from the stage, at whatever level fits you. If you are a business, email us regardless so we can set up billing and benefits. If you are an individual who wants to sponsor, email us too.

Ten percent stays with Eastside for All. That is not overhead skimmed off your donation. Eastside for All organizes for a safe, welcoming and just East King County, led by and for Black and brown community members. They receive, receipt, and safeguard your gift — so you are funding two things: this event, and them.
